Initial bariatric appointment.  Saw registrar and was told I would not be suitable for a gastric bypass and they would have to discuss my case to see if I could have a sleeve.

20th December 2013, 12:00 hrs

Saw the Dietitian, Scott who explained what a sleeve was and the hard work I will have to put into my weight loss regime.

30th January 2014, 15:30 hrs

Saw Scott the dietitian again to re-cap everything and confirm a psychiatrist appointment.

16th April 2014, 09:00 hrs

Saw the psychiatrist, Dr Tom Stevens and discussed my issues with weight and eating habits.  He assured me that I was mentally able to cope with the surgery and told me he would put me forward.

20th June 2014, 10:20 hrs

Saw the clinical nurse specialist, Sister Cathy Edge and she explained the operation procedure and possible complications.  She went onto explain the post op care and gave me a copy of the liver diet, then asked if I had any questions etc.

10th July 2014, 10:00 hrs

Pre-op assessment - 

23rd August 2014, 06:45 hrs

St. Anthony's Hospital,
Cheam.

Sleeve Gastrectomy procedure- check in early, surgery list starts at 08:00 hrs.  No eating for 6 hrs before admission, no drinking for 2 hrs before admission.

 22nd September 2014, 14:00 hrs

St. George's Hospital,

Post op check up and review. 

Saw a bariatric nurse who told me I have lost 10 kilos since my pre-op assessment.  I told her about the horrible taste in my mouth and the coating on my tongue and she recommended I use an antifungal oral liquid called Nystatin.  She also said I need to increase my liquid intake.

Barium Swallow Test.

I had a barium swallow, marshmallow swallow and reflux test.  I will receive the results either by phone or in the post. 

7th November 2014, 15:45 hrs

Endoscopy Test.

Test results were normal.  Throat tube felt larger for a week or two but then initial problems returned.  Called Bariatric nurse who contacted Mr Wan.  Was then told another barium swallow test and endoscopy test are required, this time to be performed by the Bariatric team.
