Pureed Stage - Food Suggestions


The texture of this stage should be thicker than with stage one but still without lumps.  Add liquids and blend until smooth.  In order to get the right nutrients, variety is important and you should include protein, vegetables and carbs with every meal.
  • Porridge, Ready Brek or Weetabix with NAS or artifical sweetener
  • Stewed fruit with low fat custard
  • Low fat rice pudding
  • Low fat mousse
  • Smoothies made with protein powder, fruit and milk
  • Mashed banana
  • Slice of very ripe melon
  • NAS jelly with low fat yogurt or custard
  • Tinned ratatouille, mashed or pureed
  • Softly scrambled eggs
  • cooked vegetables, mashed, or mushy peas
  • cauliflower or broccoli cheese
  • Vegetable stew, mashed
  • Mash potato or the inside of a jacket potato, mashed, mixed with low fat grated cheese and mashed/pureed baked beans 
  • Mashed tinned corn beef mixed with mash potato
  • Lean tinned stewed steak
  • Roast beef or chicken with gravy
  • Lean minced meat, such as beef, turkey or quorn, topped with mash potato, swede, carrot, parsnip or sweet potato
  • Low fat, diet ready meals with meat and mash or gravy.
  • Pureed chicken lamb, beef, ham, turkey or quorn with gravy or a tomato based sauce
  • Dahl
  • pureed beans or lentils
  • Hummus
  • Light cream cheese
  • Cottage cheese
  • Protein rich fresh soup
  • Well cooked pasta
